Stu Unger is one of the largest stars to have immerged from the pro poker world. Stu Unger lived the life of a rock star including the quick rise to fame, the drugs, the comeback and the inescapable death at a young age. Here you can read about the life story of the mythical poker player Stu Unger. The start Stuart Errol Ungar was born in 1953 to a Jewish family who lived in Manhattan on the Lower East Side. Stus dad was a widely recognized bookmaker and his mummy was too unwell to battle against her boys interest in betting. After the passing of his pa, thirteen years old Stu had found a pa figure at his neighbour Victor Romano, one of the famous Genovese family squaddies. By that time, Stu was a skilled gin player who had gained huge experience in winning gin competitions.

Stu dropped out of school to become a full time gin rummy player. The Genovese family had profited from Stus talent. The increase as a pro gin player, Stu had managed to beat all the pro gin poker players around.

According to the rumours, Stu caused Harry Yonkie Stein, one of the best players around to stop playing gin absolutely after thrashing him in a gin match. In 1976, he and his girl moved to Vegas where they were given married and had a girl, Stephanie. In 1980, Stu won the World Series of Poker Main Event after thrashing experienced poker pros like Doyle Bronson. Stu was the youngest WSOP champ in history and was nicknamed The Kid. Although Stu won the 1981 WSOP Main Event, he considered himself more a gin and rummy player than a poker player.

After winning his first WSOP championship title, he was quoted asserting the poker world would meet better no limit players than him, but nobody will ever be in a position to play gin rummy better than he does.

In 1982, he got fined by the New Jersey Gaming Commission for cheating, though Stu hasn't done anything illegal but using his natural talent and outstanding memory. The decline In 1990, Stu made another appearance to the WSOP.

He used to be a chip leader for the 1st a few days of the event and then vanished. He was found lying at his hotel room, comatose from a drug overdose. it didn't stop him from finishing ninth and earning enough cash for his future cocaine supply. The Comeback After 7 years of vanishing from the pro poker circle, Stu had returned to the WSOP. The local media was delighted to embrace The Comeback Kid, but his success didn't last long. The Death Stu Unger didn't attend the 1998 World Series of Poker since he couldn't get the money to pay the entry charge. 7 months after Scotty Nguyen won the 1998 WSOP, Stu Ungar was found dead at his motel room in Vegas with eight hundred bucks in his pocket.
